Introduced in 1956, the Mercedes 220 S Cabriolet was produced in limited numbers and finished by hand, which justified a price 75% above the 4-door version. Even so, it was one of the most desired cars of the time.

Equipped with a 2200cc inline 6-cylinder engine and dual Solex carburetors, the Mercedes 220 S Cabriolet had a construction quality well above average, not only in terms of luxury, but also in terms of materials.

This particular model was originally sold to the USA market and imported into Europe about 2 decades ago. The car has Portuguese documents and belongs to the 1st series, that were equipped with a fuel injection system.
